Love's Infinite Song

This poem, written by my father Jim to my mother Carol, captures the beauty of spiritual living, the essence of yoga, and the highest yoga — the yoga of marriage. It marks the profound state of reality where two beings unite to become one, embodying the highest state of marital harmony.

Who are you, who am I,

Sometimes it's almost as if we blur,

Into one another, Not two but one.

Like blue skies over the ocean,

Where does one end and the other begin.

While clouds roll in from time to time,

We weather each storm and survive.

The horizon seems so far away,

But with us it is

A seamless line

Of two people joined as one.

The life we have,

Our sons and all,

It's amazing how,

We are so truly blessed.

How would life be without US?

I cannot picture it.

It seems as if we've always been,

You and me, me and you.

To the future then, Our lives together.

Filled with love and joy,

for the two who are one.

Many times in life we bicker, nitpick, complain, and forget the very essence of who we are. In reality, it is this truth: we are one with our beloved. If we can realize and accept this, we can serve with our hearts and enjoy the highest fulfillment in life, realizing and relating to the highest source of all within all. In that context, our sun and moon balance, and the ocean and sky meet to be one continuous reality.**

** This is the marriage within you, and this is what's possible in a marriage where two become one - soul.

This poem exemplifies the Art of Marriage as a way of being and serves as inspiration for our digital course: The Art of Marriage: Cultivating Happiness and Blissful Unity. The course is available for you to access when you choose, when it fits into your life. It can be taken at your own pace.
